Joaquin Phoenix con la sua straordinaria interpretazione del film Joker ha vinto il Critics’ Choice Awards 2020, il premio dell’associazione dei critici americani, come Miglior attore protagonista. Quentin Tarantino col suo C’era una volta… a Hollywood ha vinto 4 premi, ovvero Miglior film, Brad Pitt come Miglior attore non protagonista, Miglior sceneggiatura originale e miglior scenografia. L’inglese Sam Mendes di 1917 e il coreano Bong Joon Ho di Parasite hanno vinto il premio migliori registi con un incredibile ex aequo, nonché miglior film straniero per il capolavoro sudcoreano. Per la tv, invece, continua incessantemente il trionfo di Fleabag, e della sua protagonista e sceneggiatrice Phoebe Waller-Bridge,  tra le commedie e di Succession della HBO nelle serie drammatiche.
